Thermogravimetric Analysis Properties of Cellulosic Natural Fiber Polymer Composites: A Review on Influence of Chemical Treatments

نویسندگان

چکیده

Natural fiber such as bamboo fiber, oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) kenaf and sugar fiber-reinforced polymer composites are being increasingly developed for lightweight structures with high specific strength in the automotive, marine, aerospace, construction industries significant economic benefits, sustainability, environmental benefits. The plant-based natural fibers hydrophilic, which is incompatible hydrophobic matrices. This leads to a reduction of their interfacial bonding poor thermal stability performance resulting composite. Based on literature, effect chemical treatment had significantly influenced thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) together composite structure. In this review, treatments used cellulose thermoplastic thermosetting has been reviewed. From present TGA data useful guidance determining purity composition composites’ structures, drying, ignition temperatures materials. Knowing compounds based weight, changes temperature dependence another factor consider regarding effectiveness purpose synergizing between matrix or synthetic fibers.
